The ROSSOPLAST D. I R. ROSSOCHACCY SPÓŁKA JAWNA foil packaging factory is implementing a project entitled: “ROSSOPLAST’s investment in improving the energy efficiency of the company’s production processes.”

The project received funding from the European Funds for a Modern Economy Programme 2021-2027, Priority 3. Greening of Enterprises, Measure 3.01 Ecological Credit.

Project Description

The project involves improving the energy efficiency of the production process of FABRYKA OPAKOWAŃ FOLIOWYCH ROSSOPLAST D. I R. ROSSOCHACCY SPÓŁKA JAWNA, which produces foil packaging, by replacing the welding equipment to reduce the energy consumption of this process. The planned scope of the project includes the type of project included in the detailed list of types of projects aimed at improving energy efficiency for Measure 3.01 FENG Ecological Credit under item 3.2) e):

3. Projects aimed at improving energy efficiency in the scope of modernization or replacement of:

2) equipment and installations used in industrial, telecommunications, or IT processes, and in energy processes, excluding energy processes conducted in fuel combustion installations covered by the emission allowance trading scheme, where the activities indicated in Annex 1 to the Act of June 12, 2015, on the greenhouse gas emission allowance trading scheme (consolidated text: Journal of Laws of 2023, item 589) are carried out, consisting of:

e) modernization or replacement of tool equipment.

The planned modernization includes the replacement of two currently existing devices for the process of welding plastic bags from tape with a new device characterized by a significantly higher operating speed and, therefore, reduced unit energy consumption of the welding process.

Project Implementation Schedule

The project is scheduled to begin on May 1, 2025, and end on December 31, 2026.

The following investment stages are planned for the project:

Stage 1: Selection of the welding process line supplier.

Implementation period: May 1, 2025 – June 30, 2025.

This stage will involve estimating the price and selecting the supplier of the welding process line, which will improve the energy efficiency of the company’s welding process.

Stage 2: Delivery and Installation of the Process Line

Implementation period: July 1, 2025 – September 30, 2026.

This stage will include the delivery and installation of the welding process line.

Stage 3: Implementation of technological changes and verification of energy efficiency improvements

Implementation period: October 1, 2026 – December 31, 2026

This stage involves implementing a new welding technology solution, which includes the use of appropriate process parameters and integrating the new solution into the company’s entire production environment. Validation tests will be conducted on the technological line’s operation in terms of its energy consumption. An ex-post audit will be conducted.

The project’s objective and planned outcomes include:

  • Reduction in final process energy demand by: 49,399.523 kWh/year
  • Reduction in primary process energy demand by: 123,498.807 kWh/year
  • Reduction in CO2 emissions by: 33.839 Mg CO2/year
  • Annual reduction in electricity purchase costs: PLN 43,903.34

The project aligns with the company’s strategy to reduce the impact of its production activities on the natural environment and its surroundings.

Target Groups

The project’s target groups include: ROSSOPLAST’s owners and employees, the company’s customers, business partners, including suppliers, and the immediate and extended community of the local community of Lidzbark Warmiński and the region.

AUTOMATION AND ROBOTICS PROJECT

Our company FABRYKA PAKOWAŃ FOLIOWYCH ROSSOPLAST D. I R. ROSSOCHACCY SPÓŁKA JAWNA is implementing a project entitled: “The ROSSOPLAST company’s path to the factory of the future – Phase I of transformation in line with Industry 4.0”.

The project received funding from the European Funds for Eastern Poland Programme 2021-2027, Priority I Entrepreneurship and Innovation, Measure Number: 1.2 Automation and robotization in SMEs.

Project description

The project involves implementing the recommendations included in the Industry 4.0 Roadmap, commissioned by a specialized consulting firm at the turn of September and October 2023. These recommendations will guide our company toward technological transformation to Industry 4.0. The project will be implemented in three Tasks, including:

Task 1: Purchase of fixed assets for the automation of technological processes and quality control

  • Slitter for longitudinal cutting of foil and/or foil laminates with unloading robot – 1 pc.
  • Laser for cutting foil and/or foil laminates – 1 pc.
  • Real-time print inspection device – 1 pc.

Task 2: Purchase of intangible assets to automate the production order submission process

  • System for automatic (on-line) transmission of production orders – 1 pc. with the necessary IT equipment – 1 set

Task 3: Purchasing accompanying services related to the implementation of the Roadmap recommendations

  • management training in preparing the company for transformation tasks
  • a package of specialized technological training in the operation of new machines and devices and working with the system for sending online production orders
  • consulting service regarding the development of a new company management model,
  • advisory service regarding the development of a security policy.

The project is being implemented by the Project Team from November 20, 2023 to March 31, 2025.

Project goal

The aim of the project is to undertake activities, including those in the areas of investment, organizational and management, and those improving the competences of our employees, that are consistent with the idea of ​​Industry 4.0 and that will enable our company to transform its production environment towards a smart Factory of the Future, where machines, logistics systems, and ultimately the entire production plant can constantly communicate with each other and organize their work autonomously.

Target groups

The target groups indicated for the project are: the owners and employees of ROSSOPLAST, the company’s customers, business partners including suppliers, as well as the immediate and distant environment in the form of the local community of the city of Lidzbark Warmiński and the region.

The expected tangible results of the project implementation are:

  • introducing process innovation in the technological area,
  • improving production efficiency, productivity and flexibility,
  • introducing product innovations that enable the personalization of products for customers,
  • improving the quality of manufactured products,
  • reducing the adverse impact of the company’s production activities on the natural environment by limiting the amount of waste generated and, consequently, reducing CO2 emissions into the atmosphere, reducing the carbon footprint, reducing the amount of noise emitted, improving energy efficiency and increasing the use of secondary raw materials in production,
  • improving the safety of company employees and increasing the availability of jobs for machine operators,
  • increasing the digital competence of company employees.

Project description

The project involves developing a Business Model for Transformation toward a Circular Economy-based enterprise, based on a prior audit. A specialized external consulting firm will implement these activities. The first step will identify areas susceptible to change, which will lead to:

  1. reducing the use of primary raw materials in our operations,
  2. increasing the use of secondary raw materials in manufacturing processes and
  3. suspending the use of waste in production.

A Transformation Model will be developed, specifying, among other things, a timeline of activities, the necessary resources for transformation, key indicators for monitoring its effects, and a risk register related to the challenge being undertaken. Potential areas for establishing collaborative partnerships with other companies to create industrial symbiosis will also be explored.

We plan to complete the project by August 31, 2024.

Project goal

The aim of the project is to outline transformational actions that will help us change our operating model to be consistent with the idea of ​​the Circular Economy and thus reduce the negative impact of our company on the natural environment.

Target groups

The target groups indicated for the project are: the owners and employees of ROSSOPLAST, the company’s customers, business partners including suppliers, as well as the immediate and distant environment in the form of the local community of the city of Lidzbark Warmiński and the region.

The expected tangible results of the project implementation are:

  • receiving a professional Transformation Model for the ROSSOPLAST enterprise towards a company operating in accordance with the principles of the circular economy with an outlined schedule of activities, resources necessary to implement the process and guidelines for monitoring the results.
